Dr. Iulia Banica Malcolm
Dr. Iulia Banica Malcolm is a registered Clinical Psychologist who works with adult clients experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), postpartum depression/anxiety, and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) as well as difficulties with complex trauma, stress, perfectionism, relationships, and emotion regulation. She has extensive training in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills, and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). She also provides disorder-specific treatments such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD, and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE) for PTSD.
Dr. Banica Malcolm obtained her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at McGill University after completing her psychology residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She has provided assessment and psychotherapy in both private and public health settings in Ontario, Quebec, and Pennsylvania. She also enjoys providing clinical consultation and training.
Dr. Banica Malcolm’s approach strives to be warm, compassionate, and collaborative. She first works with clients to understand their difficulties, backgrounds, and strengths, and set goals for therapy. She then provides integrative, evidence-based treatment tailored to her clients’ unique needs. She uses a trauma-informed and culturally-sensitive lens throughout her work.
