Dr. Amanda Uliaszek is a registered Clinical Psychologist licensed to work with both adolescents and adults. She specializes in assessment and treatment for individuals struggling with intense and dysregulated emotions, including those diagnosed with depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, and borderline personality disorder (BPD). She is highly trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and is internationally recognized for her expertise in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). For nearly 20 years, Dr. Uliaszek has provided clinical services in hospitals, community mental health clinics, private practices, and post-secondary student mental health settings in both the US and Canada.

Dr. Uliaszek earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Northwestern University in 2011 after completing her residency at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Since that time, she has been a clinical psychology professor at the University of Toronto. At the university, she leads an active research lab focused on treatment mechanisms in DBT (especially skills group), the stigmatization of people BPD, and post-secondary student.

<p>In addition to her clinical and academic work, Dr. Uliaszek is a dedicated educator of both current and future clinicians. She has provided direct clinical supervision in CBT and DBT to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in clinical psychology. She has delivered multiple national and international workshops and trainings focused on DBT and BPD, as well as consultation in various hospital and residential settings across the Greater Toronto Area.

Dr. Uliaszek’s approach is both structured and compassionate. She conducts a thorough and empathetic assessment of each client’s challenges and strengths, laying the foundation for an individualized treatment plan. Her therapeutic approach integrates principles from DBT and CBT, while also incorporating elements from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based practices. Treatment is collaborative, flexible, and responsive—encouraging client feedback and fostering a strong therapeutic alliance
