Kimberly Murray
Kimberly Murray is a doctoral resident, practicing Clinical Psychology. She supports children, adolescents, and families with various clinical needs. Kimberly provides assessment and treatment for a range of presenting concerns and client populations, including, but not limited to, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and related disorders, emotion regulation difficulties, and learning challenges. Kimberly works from an integrative therapeutic approach, where, depending on the needs of the client, she incorporates the use of various evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based interventions, and play therapy. Working with the population of children and adolescents, Kimberly also provides support and coaching to parents and other caregivers.
Kimberly is currently completing the final residency requirement for her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, at ADLER Graduate Professional School. Previously, she obtained two master’s degrees in psychology, one with a specialization in Behaviour Analysis (University of Nevada, Reno) and the other with a focus in Clinical and Counselling Psychology (ADLER Graduate Professional School). Kimberly earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from McMaster University. Kimberly has clinical experience providing psychological services within educational settings as well as within private practice settings. As a Registered Behaviour Analyst [R.B.A. (Ont.)], Kimberly also has an extensive background in behaviour analysis and neurodevelopmental disabilities, where she, likewise, has worked in both the public and private sectors.
Kimberly strongly values a client-centered approach that includes individualized, compassionate, and evidence-based treatment and care for youth. Kimberly’s therapeutic approach emphasizes the importance of the therapeutic relationship; a central focus entails creating a safe, warm, collaborative environment, where clients can feel seen and heard with unconditional positive regard for their unique experiences. With the foundation of a strong therapeutic alliance, Kimberly strives to equip and empower her clients to achieve meaningful growth.
